Anime Review - Soul Eater

"A sound soul dwells within a sound mind, & a sound body."

Hello guys!
How are you all?
I have to say that I miss making my anime reviews and because of that, I have a new one today!
I really hope you like this.
Let's start, shall we?

Notes:

Episodes: 51 with 24 minutes per episode

Status: Finished airing (April 7, 2008 to Mars 30, 2009)

Producers:
  • Bones
  • TV Tokyo
  • Aniplex
  • Dentsu
  • Media Factory
Genres:
  • Action
  • Adventure
  • Comedy
  • Fantasy
  • Shounen
  • Supernatural
Videogames: Soul Eater - Monotone Princess

Plot:

The story sets  at the Shinigami technical school for weapon masters.
The series revolves around 3 groups: each one of them consists in having a weapon master and a human weapon.
The ultimate goal is to reach the ''Death Scythe'' (highest title for a weapon and thus fit for use by the Shinigami) and for that, they must collect the souls of 99 evil humans and 1 witch.

The plot revolves around some groups:
  • Maka and Soul
  • Black Star and Tsubaki
  • Death the Kid along with Patty and Liz Thompson
Besides taking time to collect souls, these students of ''Shibusen'' defend their city (Death City) from some of the most powerful creatures while they study and try to become stronger.

Artwork:

The artwork of this anime is simply amazing.
It has a very particular style, but the drawings are very detailed and realistic.
I love the mixture of several ways of putting everything together in the end.
The characters are well made and they all look different from each other.
Some fight scenes are insane and have a lot of detail as well.

Some characters:

Maka and Soul-  This girl is a weapon meister and works along with Soul.
They make a pretty good team and defend each other in every situation.
She has a complicated relationship with her dad because he tries to show her how much he loves her, but she has a strong personality and doesn't react the same way as her dad.

Soul  is Maka's weapon.
He is super funny and has a ''bromance'' type of thing with Black Star.
I have to say that these two made me laugh every time they had one of those moments.

Black Star  and Tsubaki - This guy is a riot. He's the weapon meister of  Tsubaki and they are also a perfect team.
The have a very good and close relationship and work very well together.

Tsubaki is very calm and sweet while Black Star likes to be the center of attention and has some pretty epic funny scenes.

Death the Kid and the twins (Patty and Liz Thompson) - Death the Kid is one of those characters that are just perfect.
He is obsessed with symmetry and gets crazy every single time something isn't symmetrical.
He is the Shinigami's son and works with Patty and her sister Liz.

Patty is super funny and she's not as smart as her sister, but when it comes to work, she is perfect and strong!

Liz is more focused and is smarter than her sister. But!, the three of them make a perfect match and are very powerful.

Shinigami - He's the owner of the ''Shibusen'' academy and is the father of Death the Kid.
He is also super funny and very strong.
Maka's dad is his weapon and they have a pretty good chemistry.

Music:

First opening - ''Resonance''
This is a great song. It has a lot of power and it's a great intro.

Second opening - ''Paper Moon''
I like this one as well! It's very cool and has a different style from the first one.

My opinion:

I watched this series a few years ago and I still remember it very well.
If you like to laugh, please watch this!
This anime has a great plot, characters, scenarios and fight scenes.
And has also some scenes that will make you think about a lot of things at the same time.
I have to say that I was impressed when I saw this because I didn't know what to expect from it, to be honest.
Give it a try and trust me, you'll love it!!!

Trailer:

Thank you so much for your attention and support!
See you next week!
Love you all <3

XO,
Di.
